Assistant to Unit Accountant/Director of Events

Mastro’s is looking for dynamic individual who is looking to work in a fast-paced environment. We are searching for an assistant to our Unit Accountant and Director of Events who will assist in the events department, as well as in the office.

This is a part-time position.   Applicants must be friendly, have an out-going personality, work well under pressure, possess leadership qualities and be excited to join a team of coworkers dedicated to detail.

Job Requirements:

  • Prior administrative experience within a fast-paced environment
  • Prior restaurant experience within a fast-paced environment
  • Passion for Events
  • Advanced MS Office Suite is a MUST (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be highly organized and pay close attention to detail
  • Must have excellent phone etiquette
  • Customer Service Oriented
  • Knowledge of Aloha Systems, Open Table and Salesforce/Delphi a plus
  • Professional image
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently, set priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Ability to manage confidential data
  • Ability to multi-task in a changing environment efficiently and knowledgeably
  • Ability to be flexible and deal with change in a professional manner
  • Must have full availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

 

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Assist Director of Events in setting up parties and general event management
  • Communication with vendors and clients at direction of GM, Director of Events and Executive Chef
  • Produces & updates BEOs in Delphi on a daily basis
  • Input events into Open Table daily
  • Follow up with clients once event is confirmed either via email or over the phone to gather information for their event such as menu and wine selection, insuring payment information, set up arrangements and AV requirements
  • Produces, personalizes and prints custom menus for events and sends out proof for approval prior to event
  • Produces place cards, table numbers, seating charts and signage as required for events
  • Maintains list and advises wine director of group wine requirements on a weekly basis
  • Maintains BEO book for chefs daily
  • Attends weekly BEO meeting
  • Orders AV, equipment rentals & floral arrangements, etc as instructed by DOE
  • Gathers Captain’s logs and paperwork/receipts following each event
  • Enters past event numbers in Delphi on a daily basis
  • Assist host with answering restaurant phone for regular reservations
  • Maintain and reconcile deposit logs
  • Filing and scanning documents
  • Cash handling
  • Data entry
  • General office duties & Office Organization
  • Run gift cards / maintain and update gift card logs
