UTILITY PACKER

Job DescriptionChecks all safety guards are in place and properly working at their station. Forms cartons and applies proper box label. Constantly inspects finished product before it is packed into carton and notifies bag line operator of quality problems. Performs quality checks and completes proper documentation of those inspections on the packer sheet. Neatly stacks finished product on pallet. Removes full pallet from the machine, stretch wraps and stages in the designated area. May perform pallet weight, making proper entries into computerized record systems.Keeps necessary supplies at the machine workstation to a reasonable level to insure good housekeeping and continuous production. Keeps work area clean and orderly. Complete all housekeeping assignments.Reports any safety problems or unsafe practices to Shift Supervisor.Reports any employee accidents, injuries, illnesses and near misses to Shift Supervisor, in a timely manner. Participates in Safety investigation process.Participates in Pre-Shift and other Production and Communication Meetings.Performs various other duties as requested by the Shift Supervisor.Satisfactorily completes training courses as determined by managementWorks overtime as required. Stages cartons adjacent to bag machine and in slide.If certified forklift operator, may be required to operate forklift in accordance with standard forklift operating procedures.Performs work in accordance with standard work instructions (see standard work document)Meets progression levels in accordance with operator training standards (see progression level document).Performs standard checklists for troubleshooting.Responsible for following all plant and corporate safety rules.Responsible for following all work rules, policies, and procedures as outlined in the Hourly Handbook and Milesburg Supplemental Handbook.Must be able to work a Rotating ShiftRequirementsQualifications High school diploma or GEDBasic computer familiarity and usage (able to perform training tasks online and do basic data entry)Physical ability to perform the work.
