JOB OVERVIEW: Support the Company mission, vision, and values while directly supervising blast and paint personnel and manage all functions affecting shop safety, quality, production, budget and schedule related to industrial blast and painting operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES / SKILLS / RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises personnel in the blast & paint department (on all shifts, if required) consistent with established policies and procedures to meet assigned performance goals Directs, coordinates, plans and assists scheduling of work for blast &  paint department based on project requirements and preceding shops status Plans and maintains adequate labor resources based on specified scope of work Maintains effective and timely communication between departments to ensure continuity and cooperation Develops and implements cost and quality improvement programs Maintains necessary records for performance of hourly employees to ensure compliance with policies and procedures Administers necessary discipline for adherence to shop floor reporting procedures Promotes and supports good housekeeping practices, safety and quality within area of responsibility Aids in development and adaptation to changes in methods, procedures and new or rebuilt equipment Maintains positive work environment through personnel work assignments Ensures environmental/safety issues arising from area of responsibility, or from own activities, are managed according to legal requirements, company policy and procedures, and good work practices. Consults appropriate resources with questions relating to environment/safety responsibilities Adapts a personal commitment to excellence and actively supports and participates in the Total Quality process. Operates in a fashion to assure a compliance with Federal, State and Local Employment Legislation Performs other duties as assigned REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent Knowledge of applicable safety regulations (OSHA, DEP. EPA) Three to five years of verifiable experience in a heavy industrial or construction environment is preferred Previous experience in an industrial blast & paint environment Strong communication skills, interpersonal and leadership skills 3-5 years of verifiable experience estimating both large and small scale blast and paint projects, experience with MIL standard paint specifications is preferred. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: College or Associates Degree NACE Certification preferred WORK CONDITIONS: Primary work environment is a heavy industrial worksite (inside and outside activities) Potential to work in extreme weather conditions Proper personal protective equipment is required at all times, such as, steel toed shoes, ear protection, safety glasses, long pants, and hard hats Required experience: NACE Certification : 1 year Why Kelly®?
