Surgical Technologist

The Traveling Surgical Tech (TST) handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment needed during surgical procedure for a mobile surgical service. The TST understands the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. Individuals in this role must possess the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure. In addition to operating room responsibilities, the TST plans, loads, and transports supplies and equipment to multiple hospital and ASC locations. Job Duties include:

• Checks supplies and equipment required for the surgical procedure
• Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions required for the procedure
• Gowns and gloves surgeon and assistants
• Assists Perioperative Team with draping the patient
• Hands instruments to surgeon and takes instruments away
• Removes patient drapes and organizes instrument trays after case
• Transports instrument trays to Sterile Processing for cleaning
• Participates in room turnover and prepares room for the next case
• Performs effectively in emergent situations
• Manages time effectively
• Loads and unloads van with supplies, equipment, and instruments into van for transport
• Travel within a two-hour radius of Kansas City, MO 10+ days per month

Requirements: · Certified Surgical Technician or 3 years of experience in sterile surgical procedures · BLS/CPR Certification · Ophthalmology experience strongly preferred · Physical ability to lift 50 lbs to waist, and 10 lbs over head · Clean driving record Job Type: Full-time/Part-time Job Location:
