POSITION SUMMARY:

Business Relationship Manager (BRM) professionals work as the strategic interface with assigned areas of MINDBODY for the purpose of business-IT strategy development, solution discovery, service management, risk management and relationship management. These individuals serve as the relationship linkage between the MINDBODY business units and PT&E. They provide highly-valued strategic consulting level support and guidance throughout key PT&E initiatives. They facilitate, and serve as a lead, for the planning and execution of initiatives to enable the Institute to achieve objectives through the effective use of technology. They also communicate decisions, priorities and relevant project information to appropriate levels of staff regarding service requests, projects and initiatives.

Business Relationship Managers proactively serve as a trusted advisor, and function as a key point of contact for IT business stakeholders. They represent PT&E to the business units by promoting PT&Es vision, value, services, and capabilities. They also act as advocates on behalf of business stakeholders to ensure IT services meet their business priorities and needs.

Business Relationship Managers utilize Lean/DMAIC business process methodologies. They are accountable and responsible for the MINDBODY end-to-end business process architecture such as Order-to-Cash, Idea-to-Offering, and Issue-to-Resolution. They perform the role of technical program leadership and delivery and possess hands-on knowledge and experience of CRM, ERP, ECM platforms, data models and SaaS vendors.

Individuals in this role must be able to communicate clearly, negotiate, listen, mitigate conflict, build alliances and achieve desired results using strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills. They work closely with others on intangible issues across organizational and business-entity boundaries. Their knowledge of technology risks and opportunities are shared to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of MINDBODY.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelors degree in Information technology, Business or a related field
  • Typically requires 10 or more years of internal/external IT experience
  • Experience successfully leading large, complex projects and/or in business/IT Consulting/management roles.
  • Requires leadership and negotiation skills and experience/in-depth knowledge of the business requirements analysis and IT processes
  • Self-motivated and the ability to work with autonomy;
  • Proven track record building strong relationships; excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills; individual contributor responsible for managing business relationships
  • Ability to effectively interface with all levels of executives

  • Large-scale/enterprise end-to-end business process architecture experience
  • Lean/DMAIC business process mapping experience

  • Hands-on knowledge and implementation experience of CRM, ERP, PLM, ECM platforms, data models and SaaS vendors required
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategy (25%)
  • Establishes and maintains a strategic relationship with appropriate level key stakeholders and PT&E.
  • Leads stakeholder (internal and, when appropriate, external) business planning and strategy meetings.
  • Participates in short and long-term strategic planning sessions with clients to improve business processes
  • Communicates with work force business leaders and project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure awareness of progress, risks, and results.
  • Participates and contributes to business client leadership meetings.
  • Understands and anticipates direction of the business area(s)/unit(s) identifies opportunities and makes recommendations to support the assigned business area(s)/unit(s) desired future state.
  • Maintains awareness of changes to organization(s) strategy, goals and processes to ensure requirements appropriately reflect the need of the organization(s).
  • Develops and advocates recommendations for solution options in conjunction with Technology Consultants.
  • Works with appropriate stakeholders to proactively identify and evaluate risks associated with business decisions.
  • Negotiates agreements and commitments by facilitating communication between business stakeholders and PT&E from initial requirements to final implementation.
  • Manages business leadership priorities of PT&E projects and requests.
Oversight (25%)
  • Leads prioritization of IT initiatives based on organization(s) needs/strategy, IT workload and budget.
  • Ensures the oversight for resolution of escalated IT issues
  • Ensures the business need is addressed by the technical solution from a conceptual standpoint.
  • Works with work force stakeholders and technical resources to cultivate appropriate solution required to meet work force business goals.
  • Minimize business value lost during project/program execution.
  • Develops the business case process.
Advocacy (25%)
  • Represents the business strategies and priorities to PT&E.
  • Represents the PT&E vision to the business.
  • Promotes business knowledge of IT process, roles, and procedures to ensure the best possible outcome.
  • Acts as an advocate for business needs and required results.
  • Ensures PT&E departments are aware of key business issues.
  • Identifies and mitigates potential problems and conflicts with IT delivery.
  • Leads and may champion change management activities (i.e., frequent communication to staff and clients about the change and the impact of the change, advocacy, coaching, and mitigation of resistance to minimize disruption and achieve desired results from initiatives that are triggered/enabled by technology).
  • Manages stakeholders perceptions with all PT&E services.
  • Ensures stakeholders expectations are set and identifies and resolves disconnects through negotiation or governance mechanisms
Consulting (15%)
  • Provides strategic consultation to business and PT&E teams and participates in quality reviews and provides feedback sessions.
  • Advises on options, risks, costs versus benefits, and impacts on end-user products and services, business processes and system priorities.
  • Ensures IT solutions support the organizations short-term and long-term business goals/strategy and align with IT strategy.
  • Analyzes technology trends to determine impact to the achievement of Institute goals.
  • Uses the Service Catalog to identify opportunities and may assess and provide recommendations based on business relevance, appropriate timing, technology, implementation, and deployment.
  • Supports and or participates in formal reporting of project status.
  • Recaps (monthly, quarterly, and annually, as needed) IT performance
Coach/Mentor (10%)
  • Develops, motivates, directs IT team members
  • Fosters a team environment
  • Recommends training programs targeting specific areas of improvement
  • Mentors members of the PT&E team and provides input to performance reviews
