About this job

You will Bake pie shells, brownies, pumpkin, pecan, cakes, meringue and all the variety of fruit pies. Dip the mixes into the base of the pies in the ovens by hand or using Karm pumps, turbo depositors, etc. Bake all the garnishments (coconut, almonds, walnuts, etc.) for the decoration of the pies.

Duties Include:
While there are a variety of duties associated with this position, the Crew Member would normally be performing only one job duty at a time.  They would complete his/her task and then rotate into another job duty.  During the shift the Crew Member may perform several of the job duties listed below as needed.

  • Bake pies shells, brownies, pumpkin, pecan, garnishments, cakes, and all the variety of fruit pies closely following proper procedures, check on products throughout baking process.
  • Top and bake meringue pies
  • Dip pies shells and refill if required using the proper equipment, top pies with the various crumbs.
  • Move, load and unload products on racks, tubs, and transits.
  • While loading pies into transits, maintain accurate count.
  • Assure that oven’s R.E.’s are being maintained.
  • De-tin and trim shells
  • Ensure ingredients are stored and dated properly
  • Sift crumb topping
  • Scrape and clean ovens
  • Safety: Maintains a clean and safe work area at all times.  Performs duties in a safe manner and observes approved safety procedures at all times.  Immediately communicates all accidents, potential hazards and near miss accidents to the manager on duty
  • Product Quality:  Visually monitors product and takes corrective action when necessary.  Ensures product is consistent with established specifications.  Reads and ensures understanding of all specifications of product before signing specification form for the day’s product runs.  Escalates quality issues to QA and production management as appropriate.
  • Paper Work:  Completes all required paperwork thoroughly and in a timely manner in accordance with company policies.
  • Attendance:  Maintains consistently regular schedule attendance.  Arrives to work on time.  Takes breaks and lunches that do not exceed their allocated time.  Schedules time off with appropriate notice given to ensure that the work team has each member present to meet daily production goals.
  • Food Safety:  Monitors food safety and security daily and communicates and reports any violations of food security or suspicious activity to direct manager.  Escalates quality issues to QA and production management as appropriate.    
  • Able to assemble, adjust, and operate the following equipment at the R.E.’s per operation:
  1. Karm pumps
  2. Transfer pump
  3. Graham spinner
  4. Bowl lifting equipment
  5. Tin greaser
Requirements:
  • Must have strong hand/eye coordination
  • Ability to work well with people, be polite and be team oriented
  • Must have strong organizational skills
  • Must be able to pass math test
