Logistics Distribution & Transportation Dispatcher/Coordinator
This role contributes to the success of NAN by directing the daily operations of the N317 private fleet based in Indianapolis, IN.
Major Task Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:
* Accountable for daily dispatching of NAN private fleet in Indianapolis, IN
* Responsible for identifying, accepting/rejecting, scheduling, and communicating of loads (outbound, inbound, materials, and external)
* Interfaces with plant, DC, and other transportation functions within NAB as well as external customers.
* Develop effective relationships with internal customers (i.e. sales, logistics, plant, satellite warehouses, CSCI, etc.)
* Negotiates truckload rates with brokers to mitigate inflation and implement cost saving projects
* Provide relief for transportation supervisor
* Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills
* Coordinate with bottler warehouse and retail customer management on number of loads, schedule and delivery windows.
* Coordinate with plant warehouse management any opportunities or issues arising from the transport loading process.
* Ensure any loads are reassigned to meet contract obligations due to call offs, out of hours, etc.
* Ensure all daily loads are scheduled and assigned before leaving each day.
* Update all paperwork and transport daily schedules for drivers and communicate to customers if changes are made.
* Be available 24 hours to answer questions, help out with opportunities and assist all transport drivers.
* Any assigned duties to include, but not limited to, scheduling, communication, reporting, process improvement, billing and paperwork.
* Off-hour phone calls will be necessary
* Reconciliation of Accounts Receivable to ensure precise invoicing and collection of aged invoices.
* 2nd Shift Schedule
Education and Certifications:
* 3+ years of Supply Chain Operations experience required (internal candidates with appropriate experience could be considered)
* Bachelor's degree required, preferably Business/Supply Chain or related fields
Work Experience:
* Knowledge of DOT (Department Of Transportation) regulations
* Transportation experience dealing with legal, regulatory and operational issues, including customer service, logistics and carrier operations
* Understanding of the Freight Transportation function, process, modes and service providers (Truckload, Less-Than-Truckload and Intermodal)
* Freight invoice reconciliation and payment experience
Skills & Capabilities:
* Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings and/or weekends - Mostly 2nd Shift.
* Strong communication skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and influence management skills
* Incumbent should have a strong customer focus and be results driven.
* Incumbent must be able to prioritize and perform multiple tasks without losing momentum while also completing all daily tasks efficiently and effectively
* Proficiency/experience in key PepsiCo Supply Chain systems (TMS, LDD, Enterprise Route Guide, SAP)
* Proficiency in MS Suite
* Capable of working both autonomously and in a team setting
* Strong problem solving, attention to detail and technical skills
* Initiative, a positive attitude and the ability to manage through change
* Must be willing and able to travel 20% of the time
* Experience interfacing with private fleet as well as working with common carriers
* Demonstrated strong analytical skills, process orientation, and influencing/conflict management skills.
