Enfield, CT Life Science company is searching for a long term, temporary Quality Technician for their New Products Development department!
The Quality Technician position supports New Product Development activities in support of the Quality Management System. The NPD QT will provide technical support to production and incoming inspection, including FAIs, quality plans, and inspection plans, as well as documenting requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assists in the development, evaluation, and improvement of New Product Development inspection methods.
  • Interacts with NPD team members to plan and design new product design and tooling to ensure efficient, quality-based production methods.
  • Interacts with vendors to coordinate product specifications and quality standards.
  • Interacts with management, engineering, and other staff regarding NPD requirements and timelines, and other considerations to support the NPD process.
  • Performs FAI inspection according to requirements.
  • Supports operations as required.
  • Exhibits a collaborative, team oriented work ethic.
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • Five years of directly related Quality experience and/or training.
  • Must be familiar with ISO 9001 and/or 13485.
  • Knowledge of customary dimensioning and tolerancing standards and G, D & T.
  • Must be capable of reading blueprints.
  • Must be capable of utilizing various types of gages and measuring equipment, and be proficient with CMM operation.
  • Must be detailed oriented with the ability to successfully multitask and demonstrate organizational skills.

    COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

    COMPUTER SKILLS: Possess strong overall computer skills in all MS Office products such as Outlook, Excel, Word and Power Point.

    REASONING ABILITY:Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, color vision and depth perception, plus ability to adjust focus.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving and vibrating mechanical parts. Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate in the manufacturing area.
