The Radisson Blu Mall of America features 500 design forward guest rooms, unique spaces and over 26,000 square feet of meeting space, and is the first hotel connected to the Mall of America.

The Cook II responsibilities include:

1. Preparing high quality food for the Radisson Blu

• Approaching all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner

• Maintaining and assisting with ongoing training and development of employees as instituted by the Sous Chef and Executive Chef

• Demonstrating skill and full competency at each station within their team

• Following Occupational Health & Safety regulations

• Staying current and up to date on knowledge of food allergies and safe food practices

• Demonstrating knowledge and skills of various knife-cutting techniques, such as cutting, dicing, slicing, and preparation of garnishes

• Demonstrating technical knowledge of vegetable preparation

• Showing a strong knowledge and ability to prepare different methods of starch cookery, identification, classification and preparation of mother sauces and preparation of basic soups

• Utilizing a strong knowledge of food safety with critical control temperatures, danger zones, cross contamination, sanitization, food borne illness, toxins and chemical poisoning

2. Working as a team member to maintain pleasant work environment

3. Creating 100% guest satisfaction by providing the Radisson Blu experience through performance that demonstrates the standards of, genuine hospitality and exceeding guest expectations

4. Performs other duties as required by management to provide 100% Guest Satisfaction and genuine hospitality to our guests

REQUIREMENTS:

-At least 2 years of high volume kitchen experience

-Culinary Degree preferred

-High School Diploma required

-Experience at a similar size and quality hotel recommended

-Must work well in high-pressure situations

-Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure

-Must possess outstanding guest services skills, professional presentation and accurate communication skills

-Proficient in the English language (verbal & written)

-Must be able to handle a multitude of tasks in an ever-changing environment

-Must be flexible in terms of working hours

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

-Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

-Must possess a team spirited attitude and a willingness to help

-Ability to effectively communicate with department managers, team members and guests

-Ability to retain and give general hotel information

-Ability to hear with 100% accuracy with correction

-Ability to stand and exert well paced mobility for an eight (8) hour shift
