Description
Central Kitchen Prep
The Prep’s role at Garden Fresh is to assist in the preparation of product by chopping fruits, vegetables and processing raw products. This position also provides the opportunity to develop many other types of skills essential in cross training into other positions within the Souplantation & Sweet Tomatoes Central Kitchen by becoming proficient in using a wide range of kitchen equipment such as knives, dicers, peelers, food processors (Ginsu), and cheese cutters.
The Prep is an integral member of the kitchen staff and the work they perform is crucial to the overall success of the kitchen. A successful Prep will learn how to work well in a team and will take responsibility for their actions and will consistently demonstrate proper food safety and handling guidelines that will produce great craveable food 100% of the time. The Prep will understand how to read a prep sheet, execute the preparation of items requested & know the importance of sanitation.
To be successful at this job you must be able to do the following:
· Follow company Safety and Food safety policies and procedures
· Be able to read, follow and company with company recipes
· Be able to work in a fast paced environment in an efficient manner.
· Understand basic food prep.
· Create large batch recipes in large volumes
· Be able to use knives and manufacturing kitchen equipment following safety regulations in a fast paced environment.
In order to perform the essential functions of the positions at Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes restaurants & Central Kitchens, employees must be able to walk & stand consistently for up to 8 hours, lift & carry items weighing up to 30lbs for a minimum of 3 hours each day. Reach, bend, push & pull items for up to 2 hours each day and must be able to use fingers, hands and shoulders repetitively for up to 6 hours each day.
