POSITION PURPOSE
Freight Team Supervisors are responsible for getting the store ?Grand Opening Day Ready? each day. With their Freight Team, they meet this goal by stocking shelves, organizing aisles and overheads, and
building endcaps and promotions. With direction from the Operations Assistant Store Manager (ASM) and the category pack-down list, the Freight Team Supervisor executes pack-out and pack-down with
his/her team. Every day, Freight Team Supervisors, along with their team, make sure that the sales floor is clear, organized and properly signed, and that the receiving floor is clear of pallets and trash. Freight Team Supervisors must have excellent communication skills and must keep their team motivated through leading by example.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
SUPERVISING ASSOCIATES
Responsible for overseeing work activity within his/her department(s)
Communicates store and Home Depot objectives to associates
Supervising Associates within department(s) of responsibility
Scheduling Freight Team Associates work time and training (to be approved by Store Manager)
Training and certifying Freight Team Associates to use equipment necessary to do their jobs successfully
(e.g., slip sheet machine, electric pallet jack, fork lift)
Training Freight Team Associates in pack-out and pack-down procedures and standards
Motivating Freight Team Associates and assisting in their development
Assigning Freight Team Associates to operate equipment
Training, coaching and developing Associates customer service skills
Counseling and maintaining positive interpersonal interactions with Associates on Freight Team to proactively address any concerns
Developing a gameplan with the Operations ASM to prioritize duties of Freight Team Associates
Monitoring progress of Freight Team Associates to ensure duties will be completed
NATURE AND SCOPE
Due to forklifts and other heavy equipment traveling through the store, temporary cracks may appear in the
floor, causing an uneven walking surface
The warehouse environment can be dusty and noisy
Doors near the department are frequently open, causing drafts and interior temperature changes
Floors around work area may become slippery during wet weather conditions
May have to handle merchandise and work with tools with sharp edges
Passing forklifts emit gas fumes
Tools, supplies and related merchandise may contain hazardous materials
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Environment:
Usually in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort from such things as dust, fumes or odors.
Travel:
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Additional Environmental Job Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Additional Minimum Qualifications:

Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.
Years of Relevant Work Experience: 0 years
Physical Requirements:
Must continuously stand or walk or regularly requires lifting/handling/carrying material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds).

Bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling and moving items
-Frequently requires the ability to lift and move heavy and bulky items without assistance
Responding to public address system announcements
-Requires listening for customer service calls, personal pages and general information announcements
Walking and Standing
-Requires moving around the store to assist Customers
Identifying and reading reports, tickets and UPC labels
-Requires recognizing, identifying and using merchandise and necessary reports
Climbing Ladders
-Requires being able to climb a ladder, up to the height of 12 - 16 feet, in order to obtain or stock merchandise
