Delivery Driver - Full-time / Part-time

Delivery Driver for San Rafael or Mill Valley Location

Company Profile: Sol Food is an award-winning authentic Puerto Rican eatery with locations in downtown San Rafael and downtown Mill Valley. We began in 2003 with six employees and have now grown to three locations with over 250 dedicated employees. We have a following of loyal customers, some of whom have been visiting us since the days of the Farmers Market! We have a core group of longtime employees whom we value and depend on greatly.

Overview: Drivers represent Sol Food on the road and serve as a communication link between delivery customers and staff. It is important that they are responsible, reliable, prompt, accurate, efficient, professional and provide courteous delivery service to customers.  

Duties and Responsibilities: 

•Great customer service skills 

•Knowledge of vehicle safety and practice safe driving

•Responsible for operating and maintaining their personal vehicles to ensure safe driving

•Must handle money and closing reports accurately

•Will start shift by clocking in, placing car top sign on your car, make sure you have sufficient change ($20.00 recommended)

•Will do daily side work if there are no deliveries ready

•Must maintain knowledge of all the menu items

•Must have full knowledge of delivery area

•Fulfill all “Driver Guidelines Requirements”

•May be required to use a hands-free device when using a cellular phone and driving. 

•Call restaurant’s phone 10 minutes before returning from a trip

•Taking proper breaks

•Covering your shifts when not able to work

•Must always have sufficient change for your shift

•Should always carry a pen with you

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Must have and be able to do all of the following:

•Ability to fluently speak and write in English. 

•Conversational Spanish is a plus. 

•Excellent attendance and punctuality 

•Schedule flexibility determined by business needs

•Excellent organizational skills.

•Ability to multi-task.

•Clean driving record, unexpired driver license, unexpired insurance, and unexpired vehicle registration.

•Excellent driving skills. 

•Knowledge of Marin County. 

•Ability to work in a high-energy and demanding environment. 

•Able to take direction well 

•G.P.S. (Other than cell phone)

•Cell phone with hands-free device available to use for every shift

•Vehicle with functioning volt charger for mobile car top signs that must be displayed on top of the vehicle at all times. 

•Must be able to routinely lift 50 pounds.
