Welder Direct Maintenance Mechanic - Full-time / Part-time

The technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining all types of welding equipment. Equipment includes electric as well as engine driven machines and their attachments. Document parts used and what was repaired on work order. Work is performed in our shop and at customer locations when required. Provide customer service in-person and over the phone.

1.      Assist customers with unloading and loading of repairs and rentals

2.      Troubleshoot equipment and diagnose problems

3.      Provide necessary information for estimates

4.      Perform repairs and test equipment

5.      Identify and look up parts to provide part numbers

6.      Maintain safe work environment

7.      Follow company safety rules

8.      Perform certified calibrations

9.      Safe operation of forklifts and company vehicles.

10.  Participate in monthly safety meetings

11.  Practice good housekeeping in shop and at work bench.

1.      Understand and be able to perform all welding processes

2.      Able to setup various equipment packages, i.e. Mig, tig, with options

3.      Read schematic drawings

4.      Able to identify components and their functions

5.      Use multi-meter, load bank and other test equipment

6.      Understanding of solid state technology

7.      Working knowledge of inverters

8.      Service and repair of gasoline, propane and diesel engines associated with welding equipment and portable generators.

9.      Complete work orders for billing of work performed

10.  Working knowledge of PC

11.  Maintain clean driving record and fork lift certification.

12.  Successful completion of factory repair certification.

13.  Little or no re-work.

14.  No injuries, accidents or mishaps.

15.  Work overtime as needed

16.  Good verbal and written communication skills
