A successful Financial Analyst will have the following:

  • MBA, MS-Finance, or Master's in another quantitative field strongly preferred; or Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university plus 4+ years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint with some knowledge of database basics (e.g. Microsoft Access, SQL) helpful
  • Well-developed oral and written presentation skills, with the ability to summarize complex concepts into understandable and easy-to-follow presentation materials
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management; ability to work with mathematical concepts (statistics, probabilities, algebraic expressions, etc.)
  • Ability to define problems, seek and collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; experience with or ability to work in a fast paced, high throughout environment
  • Excellent teamwork skills with ability to establish productive working relationships with other departments and personnel

The DISH Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis team provides decision support to improve the business and drive corporate strategy.  The Corporate FP&A team is a small, nimble group that works closely with the CFO to cover all aspects of traditional FP&A functions as well as perform ad hoc analysis and due diligence support as needed.  The Financial Analyst is responsible for planning, design, and implementation of financial models; budgeting and forecasting; long term strategic decision support; operational cost analyses and business unit analytical support; and recommending strategies for improvement.   

 

Responsibilities:

  • Design forecast and budget models through interaction with departments and identifying trends.  Develop complex models for the company and its departments to determine optimal corporate strategies
  • Interpret financial data and communicate recommendations to department leadership and company executives
  • Create and deliver presentations to upper management
  • Collaborate with the operating groups to improve performance for all areas of the company
  • Develop financial reports to monitor key metrics, interpret financial results, and seek out areas of concern and/or opportunity
