Responsibilities: The Ophthalmic/Optometric Technician is responsible for carrying out patient-oriented procedures under the supervision of the department supervisor, lead technician, ophthalmologist or optometrist. The technician prepares the patient to see the ophthalmologist/optometrist and performs all required ancillary tests. The technician is responsible for adhering to all departmental policies and procedures. The technician travels to and assists at regional sites as directed.

Qualifications: Current certification by Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO) as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant, Certified Ophthalmic Technician, Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist or optometric equivalent or Non-certified with at least two (2) years experience as an ophthalmic/optometry technician preferred.CPR certification required. General clerical skills, including basic computer and data entry, legible handwriting, and ability to use multi-line phone system required.

Compensation Detail: Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $17.68 per hour.
