STARTING RATE: $13.00

Basic Function

Provides exceptional service to all guests and potential guests by assisting them in a friendly, efficient, courteous and professional manner. Maintains the physical hotel property and grounds. Performs necessary repairs and preventive maintenance tasks in a manner responsive to guest satisfaction and to preservation of Company assets in a safe, cost- effective manner.

General Knowledge, Skill and Ability

Requires advanced knowledge of maintenance skills.

Requires ability to handle all aspects of hotel maintenance.

Requires ability to provide ongoing training for Maintenance Tech I team members. Knowledge of water chemistry, water testing, filtration, and mechanical operations is required. Development, implementation and monitoring of programs that assures a safe facility and work environment that is in compliance with all appropriate regulations -- ergonomic, emergency response, and injury prevention.

Requires general knowledge of building maintenance to include minor electrical repair, and plumbing.

Requires ability to receive verbal and written direction.

Requires ability to receive written and verbal direction in English and speak English clearly.

Requires ability to keep detailed records and reports.

Requires self motivation and organizational skills.

Requires ability to be available for emergency repairs.

Mental and Physical Requirements

EDUCATION: Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of high school, supplemented by 2 year degree from vocational school or 4 years' experience in the hotel / service industry.

EXPERIENCE: Requires minimum of 1 year of experience in general maintenance or related field.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Requires ability to walk and stand during the work shift. Requires ability to lift up to 80 pounds occasionally throughout the work week, but may lift 25 - 35 pounds intermittently during work shift.

Working Relationships

Reports to General Manager or Rooms Manager.

Works closely with Regional Maintenance Manager, Executive Housekeeper / Rooms Manager and Guest Service personnel.

Maintains and promotes a positive and cooperative work relationship with all hotel departments.
