Job DescriptionThe Southern Pacific Region of Whole Foods Market, is looking to bring on a Finance Manager in a temporary capacity. This position will likely last around 6 months, with potential to become a regular role in the future. The Finance Manager will oversee the finance functions consisting of (1) Financial Planning and Analysis; (2) Business Analysis; and (3) Accounting Services. The ideal candidate has: * A proven track record of leading in a transformative and strategic manner * Strong relationships with regional and global business partners and leaders * The support of regional leadership Partnering with the Executive Coordinator of Finance, you will lead all aspects of the regional finance team providing strategic financial services that safeguard the region's assets and improve financial performance. You will set and monitor key performance metrics, while balancing our relevant business partners to drive improvement of the region. You will coordinate common business processes, toolset, reporting, and service levels to most effectively support the region's growth and success. You will lead, mentor, and develop the team members of each functional area while building a strong regional and global network to best serve our business partners. This role will report to the Executive Coordinator of Finance. Responsibilities and Qualifications: * Function as the strategic financial business partner of the region * Lead, mentor, inspire, and develop the regional team members in a transformative way * Develop and deliver actionable, informed financial insights to assist regional leadership including capital investment, planning, forecasting, reporting, and analysis * Evolve the business analyst function to drive operational improvement * Create common business processes supported by toolsets, reporting, and service level agreements * Lead the functional area with inspiration and innovation to drive performance * Other duties, responsibilities or requirements as the business and needs evolve. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: * 7+ years of analytical, planning & reporting experience * Retail and food industry background preferred * Strong and proven technical finance, analytical, and systems skills with the ability to effectively convey results in an insightful and actionable manner * Forecasting experience is preferred, particularly experience in a dynamic, scenario driven forecast environment with a strong focus on accuracy * A proven track record of providing exceptional leadership and mentorship to your teams * An innate curiosity and drive to understand financial performance and operational trends * A strong understanding of the key drivers of sales and profitability * The ability to be a flexible thinker and to be resourceful in finding information in a dynamic analytical environment * Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively in front of varied audiences * Proven collaborator who partners well with others, builds consensus, and ensures completion of projects and assigned tasks * Ability to define problems and opportunities, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and influence and challenge decision making throughout the organization * Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, product movement software, databases and report-writing using tools such as Hyperion Essbase and SAP BPC (or related) * Ability to organize, prioritize, be attentive to detail and have a vision for the "big picture" * Ability to travel as needed At Whole Foods Market we provide a fair and equal employment opportunity for all team members and candidates regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, or disability.
