VERY well-established company located near Rockville Centre, NY (lead in air and ocean transport) currently seeks an experienced Trade Compliance Specialist.
The Trade Compliance Specialist will be responsible for support on engaged customer regulatory compliance and security matters as it relates, but not limited to Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT), Supply Chain Security, Automated Export System, Dangerous Goods Regulations, Licenses, License Exceptions/Exemptions, Restricted Party Screening, Country Embargoes/Restrictions, and US DOT Commercial Motor Vehicle Operations.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Provide as directed line support, research, and liaison on customer regulatory compliance and security matters
- Keep current with transportation regulatory agency regulations and requirements including, but not limited to Department of Commerce, Bureau of Census, Department of Treasury, Transportation Security Administration, Bureau of Industry & Security, Department of State, Department of Commerce, Food & Drug Administration, and Department of Transportation
- Maintain technical knowledge including, but not limited to FTSR, IMDG code, IATA DGR, CFR and EAR
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree is required
- 1 - 5 years of previous work experience in industry is required
- Exceptional interpersonal, problem solving, communication, organization, presentation, and analytical skills required
- Previous experience in a transportation / compliance position is strongly-preferred
Salary is commensurate with experience + comprehensive/excellent benefits package
