About this job
The Laboratory Assistant performs clinical laboratory phlebotomy duties including heel sticks, finger sticks and venipuncture in both emergency and non-emergency situations. Additionally, the Laboratory Assistant answers the telephone, processes specimens for testing and send outs to referral laboratories. The Laboratory Assistant is expected to perform responsibilities within the guidelines of laboratory services, hospital policy and Federal and State regulatory and accrediting agencies.
Requirements: Current State of California Certified Phlebotomy Technician certificate required. Two years experience venipuncture and phlebotomy preferred.
