Medical Lab Tech - Full-time / Part-time

Responsible for specimen processing, test performance, test result reporting, clerical and patient care support services with a high level of accuracy, precision and timeliness while ensuring compliance with departmental and regulatory agency standards. Responsible for working in two or more laboratory sections, including processing, phlebotomy, and microbiology setups depending upon laboratory needs. Works under the supervision of a Laboratory Supervisor, and in their absence, a CLS. Daily assignments are made directly or scheduled by the Supervisor and may include temporary assignments to other shifts. Service is provided to patients of all age groups: neonates, infants, children, adults and mature individuals and in a safe and professional manner within established policy.
Requirements: 60 semester (90 quarter) hours including at least 36 semester hours of physical and biological sciences and be eligible for MLT status as proposed by CA LFS (6 months of training as a MLT or OTJ experience outside of CA). Must meet Certified Phlebotomy Technician 1 (CPT1) requirements. OTJ experience as a MLT outside of CA or 6 months training (LFS or NAACLS approved) as a MLT. Phlebotomy, preferably with IP, children, neonates & elderly. Lab specimen processing including Micro set ups. Chemistry, Hematology, Micro automated instrumentation/lab equipment experience.
