Responsibilities and Qualifications

Responsible for a variety of non-dispensing, order entry and IV Admixture duties in the Pharmacy. Under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, the technician is responsible for computer order entry, preparation and distribution of intravenous solutions, admixtures, u/d packing, u/d preparation, cleaning, ordering, technical management of technology, stocking medications and related products. Displays leadership traits by demonstrating accountability, initiative, and responsibility as it relates to the department and Health Center. Performs related duties as assigned. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications:

Because you're committed to excellence, you understand the importance of being properly prepared for your role at Mercy. That's why you'll bring to your role the right set of qualifications:

* High School Diploma or Equivalent.

* Actively registered, in good standing, with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit application for registration by first day of work. This includes submitting fingerprints for FBI background check. Internal or national technician certification, preferred at or within 12 months of hire or promotion.

* Employed as a technician the inpatient pharmacy for a minimum of 6-9 months as a tech I. Trained in at least 2 areas of the pharmacy.

* PTCB certification required.
