Histotechnologist (PRN) - Full-time / Part-time

Responsible for performing all Histology functions and procedures for all patient specimens that include responding to frozen sections in both Bayfront Health St Petersburg surgery and the Plaza surgery, immunostaining and special staining by both automated and manual methodes. Processes tissues for microscopic examination. Operates instrumentation, prepares reagents and maintains records according to established policies and procedures. Works under supervision of a Laboratory Manager or Lead Histology Technologist. Communicates with nursing and physicians regarding patient specimens and results. Must have an AS degree in histology or related science OR 10 years experience with State of Florida Laboratory Technologist in Histology specialty. Prefer Bachelor's degree in Histology and one year or more of experience.
