POSITION SUMMARY:

According to prescribed procedures, cleans and services rooms by wet and dry mopping, dusting, scouring, polishing floors and vacuuming carpet, etc. Washes and re-makes bed units of discharged patients. Responsible for cleanliness and servicing of assigned area. Able and willing to do all duties required of a Housekeeper and work all shifts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Follows established policies and procedures, objectives, safety standards, and sensitivity to confidential information.

2. Performs routine cleaning functions in assigned areas following established work schedules and using prescribed methods.

3. Dusts and wet mops floors and vacuums carpet.

4. Cleans and sanitizes furniture, equipment, window sills and inside windows, and polish furniture and fixtures as required.

5. Empty waste baskets and clean and sanitize when necessary.

6. Arranges furniture and equipment in an orderly fashion and reports any equipment or furniture out of order to supervisor.

7. Replenishes supplies as necessary. Maintains appropriate logs and records.

8. Keeps utility and storage rooms in clean and orderly condition. Returns unused or unsoiled supplies to appropriate areas at the end of the day. Keeps carts neat and orderly at all times.

9. Assists in the cleaning of emergency spills observed or upon request.

10. Checks bedside curtains and window shades and replaces when dirty and torn.

11. Cleans and sanitizes bathtubs, sinks, mirrors and similar equipment.

12. Washes urinals and toilets using prescribed procedures.

13. Replenishes soap and paper towels and tissue and stock supplies.

14. Polishes brass, cleans and polishes glass panels in doors and partitions.

15. Washes walls.

16. Wipes curtain rods with a damp cloth, remove soiled window curtains and hang clean curtains.

17. Dusts and damp wipes outside of vent covers and light fixtures.

18. Gathers, disposes, recycles, as dictated, all rubbish, general waste and medical waste following prescribed procedures for handling and disposal of same.

19. Responsible for cleaning patient rooms including washing bed and mattress.

20. Responsible for high dusting.

21. Assists with orientation of new employees and staff development activities for the department.

22. Maintains confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

23. Support the culture of service excellence throughout the organization.

24. Actively seek ways to demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and participate in professional development opportunities.

25. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

26. Completes annual educational requirements.

27. Understands and adheres to Bell's compliance standards as they appear in Bell's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.

MINIMUM LEVEL OF REQUIRED PREPARATION AND TRAINING/POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Training and Experience Required:

Minimum:

* High School Diploma or equivalent.

* Demonstrated ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks on continuous basis required.

Preferred:

* Previous housekeeping experience.

Other Skills:

* Computer and/or keyboarding skills preferred.

* Excellent human relations and oral/written communication.

* Excellent organizational abilities.

* Demonstrated teamwork skills.

* Ability to deal with change.

* Demonstrates a positive attitude towards initiating continuous improvement.
