Job Description

Job Summary:

Provides direct nursing care to patients in the emergency services area in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Triages and prioritizes patient care based on acuity level and available resources.
  • Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
  • Works collaboratively with other disciplines to provide well-coordinated patient care.
  • Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.


Qualifications

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

  • Required Credential(s):
    • Pediatric Advnced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date, or (ENPC).
    • Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Department of Health obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date, or Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) licensure required.
    • One or more of the following:
      • Certified Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 9 Months (270 days) of hire date or job transfer date. ACLS replaces the BLS.
      • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. 

Education:

  • Diploma 
    • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing required ASN or BSN preferred

Work Experience:

  • ER experience preferred.
