Job Summary:
Assist, aid, protect hospital employees, patients, and physicians through the execution and enforcement of St Vincent Health System Safety and Security program.
Essential Duties:
Communication
Demonstrate and facilitates effective department communication
Consistently answers phones promptly and courteously
Reports complete, accurate and concise information to team members orally, written and by Email
Uses tact, courtesy, sound judgment and a professional attitude when relating to patients, families, physicians, team members and other employees
Consistently monitors CCTV activities in the security control room when required
Offers assistance and provide direction to visitors, patients, and staff as needed
Ability to communicate with various age levels through tone, vocabulary and speed of delivery
Escorts patients, visitors, and employees
Ability to handle difficult situation or assignments
Communicate with incoming shift regarding unsolved situations or assignments
Dissimulate information accurately and distribute to appropriate recipients
Respond to radio communication by two-way radio
Assume the duties and responsibilities of the shift leader in his/her absence
Ability to understand and manage varying schedules
Problem Solutions

Research customer problems for cause and solution
Effectively work with customers as a resource
Continuously identifies and maintains resources
Effectively works to resolve customer conflicts
Investigate all unusual incidents and report promptly
Promptly responds to requests for door openings

Responds to motorist on hospital property as needed
Identifies unsafe conditions and report to appropriate department
May come in contact with various VIP's on short notice
Coordination:
Effectively coordinates activity in support of department operation
Accurately prepare department forms
Facilitates maintenance repairs and services
Coordinates the activity of shift personnel in the absence of the shift leader
Coordinate with various departments to perform special assignment
Assess the employee's resources and strengths
Effectively diagnose situations
Carry out assignments with little or no direction
Information Management:
Verifies information accurately
Documents/maintains both department and Health System information
Effectively dispatches personnel to minimize staffing needs
Accurately prepare schedule and maintain a copy in the absence of the shift leader
Ability to comprehend and understand HIPAA laws and guidelines
Education: High School diploma, GED, Metropolitan test or equivalent.
Experience: At least (1) one year experience in fire, safety or Police security related field preferred
Physical Requirements: This job requires, at various times, the following physical activities; climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, and hearing, sometimes exerting in excess of 20-100 pounds of force.
The worker is required to have visual acuity to perform daily activities, operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment, and to determine the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
The worker is subjected to both outside and inside environmental conditions (including extreme cold and extreme heat), noise sufficient for the worker to have to shout to be heard, vibration, and hazards (including electrical current, high places, and exposure to heat). Also, frequently in close quarters and exposed to chemicals and infectious diseases.
Skills: Must possess a valid Arkansas driver's license. Must possess good communication skills, able to communicate clearly and distinctly with the public, staff, and physicians. Must possess ability to comprehend written material, prepare and write reports with acceptable clarity
