RESPONSIBILITIES:

The primary responsibility of the Rooms Controller is to maintain the proper inventory controls review and manage Master arrival list, maintaining and ensuring accurate inventory availability. This position will work closely with the Front Office Manager and Director of Housekeeping.  As well as, but not limited to, blocking, inventory maintenance, Front desk liaison, and arrivals preparation. Aide and assist in all day to day tasks within the Front Office department. Responsible for blocking VIPs, Elite Guests and guests with special requests.  The ideal candidate for this position would be someone with Front Desk experience with an interest in Management.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Suite block management and Standard room block management
  • Managing Elite, and vip reservations and those with special requests
  • Perform Arrivals and duplicate reservation check
  • Inventory balancing; ensure daily and long term accuracy
  • VIP guest tracking, In-house VIP, Group VIP’s
  • Handle incoming phone calls / special guest requests regarding individual reservations
  • Clearing exceptions file in PMS
  • Perform Front Desk duties
  • ther duties assigned by Manager

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
  • Must be able to interact, develop and sustain productive customer and associate relationships; actively seeking information to understand and address audience’s needs.
  • One year Front Desk Agent experience. -Required
  • Starwood or Marriott Front Desk experience. -preferred
  • Experience with the following computer systems: Marriott Full Service PMS, Outlook, Internet, Excel, Word - Preferred
