Providence is calling a Chief Operating Officer to Providence Tarzana Medical Center in Tarzana, CA.

We are seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) who will be responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of Providence Tarzana Medical Center and associated business lines.

In this position you will:

* Have responsibility for assisting in development and integration of the organizational strategic plan with operations. The COO is expected to act in the absence of the Chief Executive.

* Exercise management responsibility over the hospital, ensuring efficient services that are designed to meet the needs of patients, physicians, the public and staff. This will either be done directly, or through delegation of responsibility to the management staff.

* Implement systems and structures to improve patient throughput in an acute care setting, specifically for both in patients and Emergency Department patients transitioning to in patient acute care or to the post-acute continuum.

* Develop budgets and capital plans, with the participation of all key stake holders, including the Physician Capital Planning Committee, to ensure compliance with all regulatory/licensing agencies.

* Provide direct or indirect oversight of day-to-day operations of the medical center, implement strategy of CE and System Office and rotate as 'Administrator' on Call.

Required qualifications for this position include:

* Bachelor's degree

* Master's degree with a healthcare focus.

* 10 recent years of progressive responsibilities including successful experience in healthcare management/administration, with the last five (5) years in an executive level position (above Director).

* Progressively responsible healthcare financial management experience overseeing an organizations financial planning.

* Demonstrates strong analytical skills to evaluate results through data monitoring.

* Must demonstrate excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

* Direct management experience in medical center Mission integration, operations, financial analysis, budgeting, labor productivity, contract management/compliance and design/construction.

* Experience in the use of Microsoft Office tools as well as a basic knowledge of the Meditech information systems or a similar IS system.
