Overview:

Allied Unviersal Security is seeking an ERT Manager to be the primary point person for the establishment of a global ERT program and lead the delivery of ERT services to our client's Palo Alto headquarters.

Key Competencies include:
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certified instructor

  • 3-5 Years Crisis Management experience.

Job Description:

GENERAL PURPOSE AND FUNCTION:

The primary responsibilities of this position will be the establishment, training, and maintenance of an employee volunteer Emergency Response Team (ERT) program at the client’s Palo Alto headquarters and America’s sites, as well as ensuring standardized training in emergency response for all contract security personnel. This position will work closely with Global and Regional Security & Safety management, outside content knowledge expert consultants and internal Security & Safety Regional managers and coordinators. Must be able to work with minimal supervision and participate in cross-functional teams. Other administrative and project oriented functions may be designated in relation to Security & Safety Operations.

  1. BASIC REQUIREMENTS A CANDIDATE MUST HAVE IN ORDER TO BE HIRED:


Formal Education, Licenses and Certifications Required:

  • Pass a state licensing test if driving a company- owned or client provided vehicle
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certified instructor
Type and Length of Specific Experience Required:

  • Prior work experience in designing and presenting training materials using electronic mediums, to include curriculum development
  • Prior Instructional or training experience with an emphasis on emergency preparedness and response
  • Experience in planning and leading the planning of emergency management exercises and related projects
  • Minimum of two (2) years of Emergency Response Team and/or EMT experience working knowledge of ISO 9001 & 14001 standards

  1. PRIORITIZED SPECIFIC DUTIES PERFORMED AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Periodic assessment of site facilities and related metrics in order to determine ERT membership needs; regular program marketing and recruitment of volunteer members

Identify basic and advanced ERT equipment and training needs; presenting business cases for expenditure to regional Security & Safety management; developing inventory controls and replenishment strategies

Maintenance of communication tools for established emergency/safety programs

4

Coordinate monthly ERT member meetings and team communications, participation in periodic Safety Fairs

5

Work with designated EH&S ERT training vendor, if applicable, to establish annual training calendars in order to deliver training modules in accordance with global standards and local regulatory requirements

6

Publish ERT training calendar to individual teams, coordinate on-ground logistical support for trainers (access, booking conference rooms, etc), capture and submit team rosters for training credit, archive training records and maintain active membership lists

7

Coordinate and perform quarterly medical drills, annual fire evacuation drills, and other drills as deemed necessary

8

Conduct incident debriefing, tracking and management of corrective actions

9

Annual demonstration of EAP, ERT and related documents during internal and external ISO audits

Contribution to global ERT web-site

11

Physical incident response if possible at given site, participate in ICS structure, mentor ERT members

Participation in ISO certification audits;

Coordinate maintenance audits of deployed units for Global AED Program

14

Deployment of new AED units in accordance with written global standards; coordinate systems budget and installation

Maintain Medical Direction agreement for AED program

  1. DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY:


Independent:

  • Determine the need for emergency plan changes and new procedures and ensure the appropriate format and content guidelines are followed
  • Using expert knowledge of the organization's processes and hazards, coordinate the activities of engineering and operations staff to ensure appropriate development of a facility and/or site-specific hazard assessment and emergency classification procedure
  • Assure that technical training is provided to security personnel to maintain Safety and Health awareness and technical expertise required for operations that comply with all regulatory requirements
  • Provide guidance with investigation of process failures leading to workplace accidents and environmental impacts
  • Assure that proper auditing systems are in place to monitor compliance with emergency disaster protocols and all regulatory requirements.
Indirect:

  • Assess economics of emergency disaster program alternatives and recommend preferred action to customer management
  • Apply regulations and monitor compliance plans with Federal and State OSHA and other regulatory compliance issues while developing strategies and monitoring the effective execution of safety engineering, safety awareness, accident investigation, and health compliance activities.
