A local community bank in the Viroqua area is seeking a Receptionist! This is a full time, permanent career opportunity with a family owned banking group that is committed to serving their community.  The Receptionist is the first point of contact for the banks customers, and will also be cross trained in other duties as this position plays an intricate role in the day to day operations of the bank.

Job duties included but not limited to:

  • Greet persons entering establishment, determine nature and purpose of visit, and direct or escort them to specific destinations
  • Operate telephone to answer, screen, or forward calls, provide information, take messages, or schedule appointments
  • Schedule appointments and maintain and update appointment calendars
  • File and maintain records
  • Cash checks and pay out money after verifying that signatures are correct, that written and numerical amounts agree, and that accounts have sufficient funds
  • Receive checks and cash for deposit, verify amounts, and check accuracy of deposit slips
  • Enter customers' transactions into computers to record transactions and issue computer-generated receipts
  • Balance currency, coin, and checks in cash drawers at ends of shifts and calculate daily transactions, using computers, calculators, or adding machines
  • Examine checks for endorsements and to verify other information, such as dates, bank names, identification of the persons receiving payments, and the legality of the documents

 

Qualifications:

  • Clerical Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
  • Customer and Personal Service Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
  • Active Listening Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
  • Strong communication- Ability to communicate, listen, and understand information both written and verbally

Experience required:

  • Previous customer service experience is required
  • Previous clerking or cashiering experience is required
  • Previous banking experience is preferred

Education required:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required

Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday 8:00 am-5:00 pm with the occasional 8:00 am- 5:30 pm
  • Every 3rd Saturday 7:30 am-12:00 pm

Compensation:

  • $10-$14.00 per hour based on previous experience
