POSITION OBJECTIVE

To provide a comprehensive one-on-one educational fitness program for members and guest to assist them in achieving their fitness goals.
 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNTIONS

  • Responsibility to provide a comprehensive one-on-one educational fitness program that promotes a health and fitness program through realistic goal setting and education.
  • Produce independent exercisers by providing them in-depth information on equipment usage, lifestyle management, and ultimately, how to design their own personal fitness program.
  • Each trainer is responsible for tracking client paperwork
  • Attend all in-service trainings and meetings
  • Accurately record client-training sessions for payment purposes
  • Communicate client program progress and/or problems with the Director or Recreation.
  • Take pride in each and every client, assisting him or her in every way possible.
  • Conduct personal training sessions within the policies and guidelines established by ABC health.
  • Be punctual and conduct yourself in a professional manner.
  • Successfully complete and update CPR and first aid training.
  • Maintain personal training certification through continuing education.
  • Run all Resort fitness programs.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology or related area, nationally accepted certifications, and six months of personal training experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Personal Trainer certificate accepted from NASM, NSCA, ACSM, ACE, AFAA, COOPER, or ISSA. Current CPR and First Aid Certification also required for this position.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Review risk management and emergency procedures established for the resort.
  • Participate in training of Fitness Supervisors
  • Represent the resort Fitness program on an as-needed basis
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Recreation
  • Must be skilled in the safe and proper use of machine weights, free weights and cardiovascular equipment.
  • Excellent customer service skills are essential, as is an energetic, enthusiastic and motivational attitude.
  • Must have excellent physical fitness, a professional manner and discretion.
  • Excellent verbal and promotional skills also necessary.
  • Must be dependable and have a good work ethic.
  • Be able to work in a hot, wet, humid and loud environment for long periods of time.
  • Must also be able to demonstrate or verbally explain proper equipment usage.
  • The Personal Training position requires bending, twisting, pulling, reaching, stretching, straining, kneeling, grasping, gripping, and frequent lifting of up to fifty pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
