This advertisement is for a Career Service position located in the Office of Information Technology, Bureau of Infrastructure and Operations in Tallahassee, FL.
Salary Rate: $60,000.00
Under the direction of Secretary, Julie Jones, the Florida Department of Corrections (DC) is the 3rd largest state prison system in the country with a budget of 2.4 billion, approximately 99,000 inmates incarcerated and another 140,000 offenders on active community supervision. The DC has 142 facilities and more than 24,000 staff members statewide, making it the State's largest agency.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is responsible for providing daily support to FDC's information security infrastructure and operations. This includes working with Department and Agency for State Technology staff and providing tier II/III information security support for the Department's customers. This position reports to the leader of the Information Security Operations Team.
Administer, provide management and end user support for the Department's SIEM (Splunk).
Administer, provide management and end user support for Internet monitoring appliance (web proxy) and maintain site block list.
Administer, provide management and end user support for the Department's antivirus software functionality on servers and client systems.
Administer, provide management and end user support for the Department's data loss prevention solution.
Administer, provide management and end user support for the Department's IDP/IPS; monitor for information security threats and advise/participate in response actions.
Act as a key member of Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT).
Administer, support and maintain the Department's secure messaging solution.
Administer, support and maintain the Department's second factor authentication capabilities.
Administer, support and maintain the Department's host-based/client firewalls.
Administer, support and maintain other information security related systems as assigned.
Develop and maintain technical specifications, standards, procedures, and systems documentation.
Develop and maintain expertise, and cooperative working relationships with other Department staff, in information security risk mitigations and best practices suitable for the environment.
Researches and recommends appropriate technical solutions to meet functional requirements.
Researches and provides recommendations for possible process improvements within the FDC information security team.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA's):
Essential/Entry Level KSA's
Knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of information security.
Full Performance Level KSA's
Knowledge of information security threat management and incident response principles.
Knowledge of information security risk management principles.
Knowledge of the Florida Cybersecurity Standards (FCS).
Knowledge of Critical Security Controls (CSC).
Knowledge of computer operations procedures and systems.
Ability to process information logically.
Ability to interpret technical information relating to security information and event management (SIEM) and intrustion detection systems (IDS).
Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
Ability to communicate technical data processing information effectively.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
CompTIA Security+.
GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC),
Similar IT certifications, or Commensurate experience.
