Job Summary

Provides supervision of accounting team in the execution of daily accounting duties.  Assists in the supervision and direction of the financial activities of the hotel.  Responsible for safeguarding the assets and assists in preparation of preliminary financial reports in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Provides financial leadership for accounting team and all management in the hotel.

Essential Job Functions

Trains and supervises Accounting Department staff including coaching, counseling, and discipline (Accounting staff includes Group Billing           Coordinator, Accounts Payable/General Cashier, and Revenue Auditor).

Assists in monitoring and approval of all sales, purchases, and expenses of the hotel.

Analyzes financial data of operations, in order to advise management and assists in maintaining an efficient operation relating to budgeting and forecasting guidance.

Prepares monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

Prepares month end financial reporting package.

Assists management in maintaining all licenses, permits, insurance and contracts.

Prepares monthly sales tax returns and processes all related payments.

Manages document retention schedules and organizational responsibilities related to on site and off site storage.

Monitors daily task list and reconciliations to ensure all concerns are followed up in a timely manner.

Monitors cash flow.

Processes payroll related reconciliations and tax payments on a bi-weekly basis.

Assists with all guest related inquiries, as needed.

Helps establish and audit all internal financial controls, including purchasing, cash handling and disbursements, inventories, hotel equipment, master keys, and personnel time records.

Assists Director of Finance with preparation of miscellaneous reports, budget, and forecasts as needed.

Attends weekly hotel operational meetings.

Ensures accuracy in all reports prepared in coordination with Director of Finance.

Properly monitors and directs all PCI compliance related activities.

Performs any additional tasks and duties as required.

Requirements

Must be able to read, write, speak, understand and comprehend English fluently

4-year degree in accounting or finance preferred

At least 2 years experience in hotel accounting in a similar size operation required

Understanding of PCI-DSS required

Understanding of ​USOA 11th Edition required

Proficient in Microsoft Office required

Excellent attention to detail required

At least 1 year of supervisory experience preferred

Experience using Marriott PMS preferred 

Experience using DataPlus preferred

Experience using a 10 key calculator

Resumes required
