Electrician

We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrician to join our team at Oakland Stamping in Detroit. Both first and second shift positions are available.

DUTIES:

• Understands and supports robotic programming located in equipment on the facility floor.
• Understands and supports PLC and HMI programs located in equipment on the facility floor.
• Assists engineers in specifying ancillary robotic welding equipment including weld guns, torches, cabling, dress out, tool changers, tip dressers and torch cleaners.
• Performs regular preventive maintenance on machines and equipment.
• Provides support to production department.
• Evaluates fixtures for potential weld quality issues.
• Evaluates data and conducts experiments to improve techniques, procedures or practices.
• Understanding of production cycle times and production parts/hourly targets.
• Participate in cross functional and program management team activities.
• Identify and implement cost savings.
• Participate in solving chronic process and quality issues.
• Keeps updated on latest technology.
• Works on plant floor.
• Ensures process capability by setting up preventative maintenance programs.
• Works with customers on design problems and proposes solutions.
• Help in departmental operation wherever necessary
• Participates in continuous improvement activities.
• Assumes other duties as directed by supervisor.
• Conform to TS 16949 and ISO 14001 standards and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 5 plus years of proven success as an Electrician within a Manufacturing environment
• Automotive experience required
• Tier1 supplier experience preferred
• Must be proficient in robotics and PLCs
• Experience with Weld robots needed
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Technical degree/certification highly preferred
