GEM (Gaming & Entertainment Management – Illinois LLC), based in Naperville outside of Chicago, is the third largest video gaming terminal (VGT) route operator in Illinois. The Opportunity

 

COMPLIANCE SUPERVISOR (part-time)

**New Exciting Opportunity!**

 

Position Summary:

Under the guidance of the Regional General Manager, the Compliance Supervisor will act as the primary liaison and point of contact between GEM and the Illinois Gaming Board (IGB) as it relates to regulatory and compliance requirements/issues.   This position also participates with internal audits to ensure all regulations and compliance requirements are maintained in conjunction with regulatory reporting requirements for the company.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate and prepare proposed departmental changes and/or revisions to the company’s internal controls and assist departments with implementation of approved changes.
  • Prepare and submit periodic filings for approval relating to operational changes and/or events.
  • Coordinate with departments to ensure operational positions receive complete and proper training in relation to IGB compliance.
  • Direct communication with IGB to assist with any submission, review and/or question resolution.
  • Maintain a safe work environment for associates and customers.
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

Education & Experience:

  • Associates degree in Business Administration or Communication preferred; or a combination of education and equivalent experience. 
  • Must be eligible to apply and receive Terminal Handler’s License, as issued by the Illinois Gaming Board.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Prior experience working with or acting as a liaison with a gaming regulatory body
  • Minimum 2-4 years of business experience with a least one year of operational or procedural review.
  • 1-2 years of audit supervisory or audit management experience.
  • Knowledge of procedural processes and internal control systems.
  •  Principles of management analysis and organizational design.
  • Ability to formulate and recommend administrative policies and procedures to improve internal control systems.
  • Aptitude to interpret procedural processes for operational reporting; direct, train evaluate staff and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with departments, staff, federal, state and local representatives and analyze complex problems to and recommend corrective action alternatives.
  • Strong written and communication skills.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds on occasion.
  • Ability to stand, sit or kneel for brief periods of time.

 

Environmental Working Conditions:

  • Ability to occasionally work in an environment where alcohol consumption and gambling occur.
  • Frequent exposure and utilization of computer.
