Description: Qualification:
JOB SUMMARY\:
- Assists in CS, O.R., RR, OPS under the supervision of an RN.
- Must have working knowledge of sterilization methods, safety and operating procedure of autoclaves.
- Must have working knowledge of aseptic technique and cleaning procedures.
- Responsible for processing and dispensing supplies to other nursing units.
- Assists in processing OPS charts, answering phones, scheduling surgeries, etc.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\:
- Knowledge of sterilization process beginning with cleaning instruments through packaging and sterilizing.
- Ability to prioritize with strict attention to detail.
- Ordering supplies and distributing as appropriate.
- General cleaning duties.
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS\:
- Hospital experience preferred
- Specialized training in O.R. and CS preferred
- Continuously updates knowledge of peri-operative and central supply areas through use of current medical nursing journals and periodicals and by attending seminars.
