Sales Associate/Key Holder - Full-time / Part-time

We are growing and need more team members!  Full time and Part time positions available.

Once Upon A  Child is a locally owned retail store taht buys and sells new and gently used children's clothing, toys, books, furniture and equiptment.  We offer gently used, brand name products at a great value!  At Once Upon A Child, safety and product quality are our top priorities. 

Once Upon A Child is looking for friendly, entergetic, self-motivated, ambitious individuals to join our team.  This is a fast paced business and previous experience in a busy customer service environment is required.  Shift Supervisors/Key Holders will take the lead in daily activities such as buying products from our customers, pricing, managing the customer experience, leading team members and resolving conflicts. 

Major Areas of Responsibility

• Greet customers and deternine their needs
• Assist with buying, selling, pricing and merchandising
• Opening and Closing the store usng required procedures
• Assist with staff training and development

• Computer literate and able to operate computerized sales terminals

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for lengthy periods
• Lift up to 40 lbs. unassisted
• Bending, rotating, and reaching in a retail environment

Days and Hours of Work- Rotating flexivle shedules Monday-Sunday

Salary: Hourly wage dependent on experience

The ideal candidates will be customer service minded individuals. Previous retail experience is preferred and must be able to work evenings and weekends. Knowledge of style trends together with a passion for fashion and clothing is desirable. Must be proficient in computer skills. Associates will tag, label and hang inventory. Properly handles money, deposits, transfers, cash drawers and store supplies. Maintains and stocks merchandise to the floor, putting them in the proper place. Keeps the store organized by style, size and color. On a daily basis, vacuums the store, dusts counters and computers, removes trash, and ensures that the break area, bathrooms and playroom areas are safe and clean. Must be able to stand for 8-10 hours and lift up to 40 lbs., bend, reach and climb a ladder.
