Specific Duties and Essential Functions
- Directly supervise the security officers within the scope of his or her assignment
- Manage shift schedules and Non Billable Overtime
- Provide mentoring to Security Team members at the location in which they are assigned
- Ensure security team members are adhering to both client and G4S standards and when not, provide counseling and enact disciplinary action per policy
- Complete projects as assigned by the Cluster Account Manager
- Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitors entrances and exits; control/direct traffic; observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure that authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate client requirements
Requirements
Education, Licenses and Certifications Required
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must possess, or be able to obtain, a current and valid Unarmed Security Officer/Courier License issued by the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services
- Must possess, or be able to obtain, certification in each of the following:
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- First Aid
Type and Length of Specific Experience Required
- Must possess a minimum of two (2) years of verifiable supervisory/management experience
- Must have professional or educational experience in Microsoft Excel and Word programs at an intermediate user level
- Must possess one or more of the following:
- Service in Military Occupational Specialty related to law enforcement, security (such as Military Police, Elite Military Forces, combat arms) or any support role in a Combat Zone
- Graduate of a Certified Public Safety Academy (military or civilian) in the law enforcement, adult corrections, or firefighter field
- Bachelor's degree in law enforcement or criminal justice related studies
- A minimum of 8 or more years of active service in any military branch
- Associate's degree (or 60 credits) or higher in law enforcement or criminal justice with current or prior active military service

Other
- Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
- Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
- Must be able to speak, read, and write in the English language fluently
- Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
- Be able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
- May not be former or current employee of the client
- May not have immediate family employed by the client
- May not concurrently be assigned to any other company or organization at any time during the Term of the respective Work Order that may compete with the client's business
- Must not use illegal drugs. Must be able to pass a drug test with negative results (except when undergoing documented medical treatment).
- Must submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable
- Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military
Physical Requirements and Environment
Environment: Indoor and outdoor, temperature ranges from moderate to extreme cold and heat
Major activity: Walking, standing, speaking, listening, observing
Physical efforts to carry out job duties: Standing, walking, and sitting. Minimal to no stooping or kneeling.
