POSITION PURPOSE
The Interline Product Engineer I has responsibility for ensuring consistency of quality and engineering-related aspects of IBI?s exclusive brand product lines to include products with the builders hardware, plumbing, electrical, lighting and mechanical family of products.

NATURE AND SCOPE
Reports to Assistant Quality Assurance Manager. Has no direct reports.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Environment:
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Travel:
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Additional Environmental Job Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Additional Minimum Qualifications:

Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a associate's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
Years of Relevant Work Experience: 2 years
Physical Requirements:
Most all of the time is spent sitting in the same position or standing/walking or there is some requirement to lift or handle material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds).
Additional Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in a mechanical engineering or industrial technology preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:Must have working knowledge of AutoCAD or comparable CAD application- 3D experience preferred.
Must have demonstrated proficiency in the use of networked office PC?s.
Must be an MS Office products power user for Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and be able to perform web-searches.
Candidate should possess superior problem solving skills and have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Candidate shall be a self-starter with an aptitude for coordinating multiple tasks and projects.
Must be able to communicate with vendors, customers and sales in a professional and courteous manner.
Must have excellent time management skills and be dedicated to completing tasks on time.
Should have familiarity with general regulatory test standards and test methodologies, root-cause analysis techniques and general manufacturing processes to include injection molding, die casting, stamping/forming, machining, etc.
Must be a team player, committed to achieving personal, departmental, and corporate goals and objectives.
Some domestic and international travel may be required.
