Located at IAH "George Bush International Airport", Abby's Catering provides food products to high end aviation customers and we're looking for the safest catering high loader driver.

Qualifications:

  • Must be eligible for a Houston Airport System ID card (e.g. pass 10 years federal background check, pass several tests for airport specific rules and regulations)
  • Safety is number ONE! Ramp Safety on the airport is the highest priority!
  • Valid driver license with driving experience is a prerequisite;CDL class B preferred
  • 1-2 years of truck driving experience (35,000 lbs GVW)
  • Valid driver license with driving experience is a prerequisite
  • Excellent presentation and communication
  • Fluent in English, bilingual Spanish speaking is a big plus
  • Highly flexible and analytical, pro-active player
  • Good knowledge of food safety standards, valid Food Handler Certificate is a must (ServSafe)
  • Meticulous time manager with the ultimate attention to detail, NO aircraft departure delays due to catering delivery!
  • Job description includes partially working in cold room environment and physical work like pushing carts and lifting weight on a daily basis

The catering high loader driver pre-inspects his/her truck and loads the catering provision at the catering facility according to the company's instructions and diagrams. The catering load has to be checked off for completeness. After, the trucks are sealed by a security company and the driver drives thru the security gates into the airport's sterile area and performs the aircraft catering provision according to all ramp safety requirements. The catering high loader lifts up to height of aircraft door and the exchange of food and equipment carts is performed by the driver. When catering operation is completed driver returns to base, offloads and sanitizes his/her truck and assists with internal tasks in the catering facility (e.g. assembling equipment carts, sorting/polishing catering equipment, restocking merchandise etc.). He/she ensures:

  • That all products are loaded to Customer specifications and to Abby's Standards
  • That the catering operation runs under the highest airport safety standards
  • That the exchange of the catering delivery is done in the most professional and efficient way
  • That all interaction with the flight crew(s) or airport station personal is done in a perfect manner and that Abby's Catering customer services outmatch all competition
  • The delivery is on-time and complete; all process deadlines are fulfilled
  • That all auxiliary tasks that are assigned are completed with the highest productivity level and accuracy and detail

Responsibilities:

  • 1-2 years of experience in high end customer service environment

  • Ability to read and interpret loading instructions, diagrams and food menu specifications; being well versed in Microsoft Office

The Flight Coordinator is representing the company to the flight crew(s). First responsibility is the pre-flight check inside the production facility to make sure the catering for the assigned flight(s) is assembled according to the airlines order and company standards. The second responsibility is to hand over the flight catering to each flight crew on board of the aircraft, making sure all catering is loaded according to the airline's request. The third responsibility is to prepare all necessary paperwork for the next day flight(s) so the production departments have all relevant information for the next day production. He/She ensures:

  • That all products are loaded to Customer specifications and to Abby's Standards
  • That the handover to the crew is done in the most professional and friendly, personalized way
  • That all interaction with the flight crew(s) or airport station personal is done in a perfect manner and that Abby's Catering customer services outmatch all competition
  • The delivery is on-time and complete; all process deadlines are fulfilled
  • Information and data delivered to the production is accurate and no wastage or overprovisioning occurs
  • Helping training and grooming associated staff that interacts with flight crews and airport station personal; e.g. drivers and helper
