To provide a safe and secure store environment for customers and employees by remaining highly visible and approachable in an effort to deter undesirable activity.
Note to Candidate:
Work hours will be evenings, 6:00pm - 2:00am. Competitive Wages offered.
Job Description :
- Provides daily professional and helpful services in a courteous manner
- Conducts employee and customer escorts, as requested and in a proactive manner
- Inspects perimeter doors, windows, and gates to maintain high levels of store security
- Responds to requests for service during emergency situations and documents all incidents
- Visibly observes customers and employees in an effort to deter undesirable activity in and around the store
- Documents all activity and incidents involving customers and employees
- Monitors and reports any irregularities or safety concerns immediately
- Follows all laws and Wegmans policies and Work Rules
- Maintains and encourages two-way communication, communicating expectations to others including Local Law Enforcement
- Contributes to a positive work environment by working well with others in accomplishing team goals, sharing wins and successes with the team
- Treats fellow employees and co-workers with respect
- Properly maintain Security vehicle
Required Skills:
- 2+ years of Security experience
- Must be self motivated and able to work independently
- Provide incredible service and gain the trust and respect of others by providing accurate information and responding to situations in a timely manner, listening carefully and acting with customers in mind
- Possess teamwork & diversity awareness by listening to others' points of view and recognizing and appreciating differences
Preferred Skills:
- Law Enforcement, military or security experience
- Criminal Justice or related educational experience
- Ability to Inform others using various communication tools to provide meaningful, accurate information people need to make decisions
- Able to problem solve, anticipating, analyzing, and identifying problems, responding quickly when situations arise and preventing problems when possible
- Relate well to others using interpersonal savvy to foster two-way communication and develop effective relationships; recognize differences in communication styles and maintain composure
- Maintain a safety focus by ensuring safety standards are followed, teaching safety practices to employees, looking for ways to improve safety, solving safety problems, and looking for ways to exceed safety standards and reduce risk potential
