• Ability to work night shifts and day shifts (alternating two week shifts)- must have worked a night shift previously.
• Reliable transportation.
• 3+ years experience working within heavy industrial environments, power plants, or shipyards.

Job Description

Candidate will be working as a general laborer throughout a coal storage and separation plant. Their day to day functions will vary depending on which role they have them executing that day.

Right now they have two main coal origins and rail routes that enter the plant; one from Norfolk Southern and CSX. They typically run a 2-way (inbound and outbound) operation, meaning it comes in on the rails, and then leaves on ships to carry all over the world.

Various roles that this person will be supporting: Locomotive Operator, Positioner/Indexer, Exit Operator, Deckman, Standards, Lubrication Specialist. A majority of the shift will require the candidate to wait for the incoming shipment. Once the train or ship arrives all hands on deck to get things done quickly.

1. Stability-They intend for these individuals to be working for the next several years on this plant. There have been competitions candidates working for 5+ years in the same role
2. Right now they are having one of their best years in a decade. 3.7 million tons they will do this quarter, which will be the 5th best all time. 7 million is par for the course for the whole year, they could do 12 this year.
3. Mentorship- they will work directly with the Sr leadership and other members that have been running the plant for 20+ years.
4. Employee Incentive program-they just released an incentive program to reward each individual monthly based upon how efficient and safe they work.
5. Our client is an extremely large organization and they continue to look for individuals to promote to larger positions within the company.
