Corbett Group Homes, Inc is a non-profit agency providing long and short term residential care services to At-Risk youth in need of a safe and nurturing environment in San Jose, Ca. We strive to provide the most excellent care to our youth who are going through a difficult and challenging period in their lives.

All shifts include working weekends, and a mandatory house meeting every Wednesday 9am-12pm.

We have open Shifts:
* Sat/Sun 8am-1pm
* Sun-Wed 1pm-6pm
* Thurs-Sat 1pm-6pm
* Sun-Wed 12am-8am
* Thurs-Sat 12am-8am
* Thurs-Sat 7am-5pm
* Sun-Wed 6pm-12am
* Thurs-Sat 6pm-12am
* Thurs-Sat 1pm-11pm

EVERY shift is mandated to come in every Wednesday 9am-12pm.
No accommodations to any schedule will be made - regardless of school, etc.

Job Qualifications:

  • Applicant must be at least 22 years old or older
  • Must be able to pass a Department of Justice Fingerprint background check, FBI, and CA Child Abuse Registry, which means NO felonies or misdemeanors
  • Required to take and pass a pre-employment physical exam and TB test
  • Have a valid CA driver's license and clean driving record (less than 2 violations within 3 years) is mandatory High School Diploma or GED- Minimum (AA.AS or BA degree preferred)
  • Stay in compliance of company policies, procedures and Title 22 requirements (40 hrs of group home training per year, 1st Aid/CPR, etc)


Job Summary:

  • Primary responsibility of Resident Counselor I is to provide safety and around the clock supervision of the residents.
  • Provide for the physical, personal and health needs of each resident Maintain a "Home like" atmosphere that is supportive of the developmental needs of the residents.
  • Be knowledgeable and supportive of the resident's individualized care plan
  • Assist in menu development and the preparation of food for the residents
  • Perform house-keeping duties such as; laundry, cleaning, dishwashing, and changing of bed linen, etc
  • Provide guidance to residents in making positive decisions which will contribute to the achievement of their goals Implement developmentally, appropriate recreation activities after hours (as appropriate)
  • Document and communicate medication reactions and/or concerns
  • Report concerns regarding physical plants (homes) and agency vehicles. Administer 1st Aid/CPR as needed. Accompany residents to and from school, medical appointments, home visits and house outings. Participate in House Meetings. Hold team members accountable to agreements and program functions. Complete all communication, logging and reports in a timely manner.
