Responsibilities

  1. As a faculty member you’ll be challenged with adding your professional expertise to instruct a curriculum which is centrally developed with specific learning objectives.
  2. Provide timely and detailed feedback on a weekly basis and offer student support via classroom, phone, and email.
  3. Utilize classroom learning system technology (provided by university), the Internet, and Microsoft Office software.
  4. Perform other duties as assigned or apparent.

Qualifications

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

MUST meet one of the numbered pathways below, as well as any applicable clarifications stated, (including education, area of study and previous work experience, including minimum number of years and types of experience):

  1. Doctorate of Nursing Science, Doctor of Nurse Practice, or a PhD in Nursing.
  2. Doctorate degree in any area and a Master's degree in Nursing.

Doctoral Clarification: All Faculty must have a minimum of six (6) applicable credits and all faculty must a minimum of 5 years' experience in a clinical nursing practice setting with a minimum of 2 years' current experience as a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) or a Nurse Practitioner (NP).

OR

  1. Master's degree in Nursing.

Master’s Clarification: All Faculty must have a minimum of six (6) applicable credits and all faculty must a minimum of 5 years' experience in a clinical nursing practice setting with a minimum of 3 years' current experience as a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) or a Nurse Practitioner (NP).

REQUIRED CREDENTIAL:

  • All faculty must hold an active Registered Nurse (RN) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in the state they are residing in and an active National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist.
  • Faculty for NRP/531 and NRP/571 in the Online Modality must hold either an active unencumbered or unrestricted Arizona or compact state RN license AND an active Arizona Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license.

ADDITIONAL CLARIFICATIONS:

  • Degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Applicable coursework can include but is not limited to: Health Assessment, Anatomy, Physiology, and/or Pathophysiology.
  • Acceptable professional positions can include but are not limited to: Nurse Practitioner and/or Clinical Nurse Specialist.
  • Current experience is considered professional experience within the past five years.
  • Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) acceptable Nursing Master's degrees are: MSN (Master of Science in Nursing), MN (Master of Nursing), MS in Nursing (Master of Science with a specialization in Nursing), and/or a MA in Nursing (Master of Arts in Nursing).
  • Current compact states include: Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Idaho, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Wisconsin.
