Laboratory Technician - Full-time / Part-time

Job Description: Laboratory Technician Job Responsibilities:

Supports laboratory staff by maintaining glassware; maintaining logs and record books; troubleshooting and resolving problems; helping with special projects.

Laboratory Technician Job Duties:

Maintains glassware by picking-up, cleaning, washing, sterilizing, and distributing.
Provides glassware by ordering, receiving, and inventorying glassware.
Keeps laboratory supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
Documents information by maintaining daily logs and equipment record books.
Resolves problems by examining and evaluating data; selecting corrective steps.
Completes projects by assisting project team; attending and participating in group and project meetings.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
Enhances laboratory and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Work Environment: They are working in a laboratory environment - right now the company is sub-leasing space off of another company off of Medical Center Drive. They are hoping that the lease will be renewed and they will stay there, but in the meantime the CEO is also looking for larger lab space in the area to move into.

The position will start on PART TIME hours ~24 a week but the hope is in a couple of months that it will turn into full time. The reason being is since it's a new lab they are still in the process of setting things up, so the work in the lab may begin a bit limited. Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in life science - Biology preferred
Experience performing aseptic technique

Cell Culture experience required
