Welder - 1st Shift - Full-time / Part-time

Express Employment Professionals is currently seeking Welders in Portland, TN for Day Shift – 6:00am-2:30pm.  Pay Rate: $12.00.  Interested candidates should have at least 5 years Welding experience.  The positions are Evaluation-to-Hire.

 Responsibilities of the Welder:

• Fabricates and repairs metal material by applying appropriate welding techniques
• Interprets blueprints, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process
• Inspects to ensure quality specifications are met
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment at all times
• Perform all tasks requested by the supervisor and/or other management personnel

Requirements of the Welder:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• 5 years welding experience
• Must have a welding hood
• A high level of attention to detail
• Must be able to read a tape measure

Physical Requirements of the Welder:

• Capability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, bend, squat and twist up to 10 hours

Compensation of the Welder:

• $12.00 per hour
