Consultant Dietitans with Dietary Difference enjoy flexibility, independence, a competitive hourly rate and great support.  Positions are immediately available one to four days a week. Will also interview prn dietitians with the opportunity to move into long term positions as we grow. Will train/orient in the facilities for a smooth transition and provide continued support.

Current registration and Ohio License required. 1-2 years previous long term care experience is greatly preferred. This is a straight 1099 subcontracting position. Applicants must have or obtain professional liability insurance, current TB test, and pass a background check.

The Conultant Dietitian's duties include:
  • Conducts nutrition assessments on all residents on admission, and on quarterly and annual basis, including care planning and MDS Section K. Assesses high risk residents monthly per policy
  • Monitor resident weight status, initiating and adjusting nutrition interventions as appropriate 
  • Collaborates with nursing to identify changes in intake and health status, and to assess the effectiveness of nutrition interventions
  • Collaborates with physicians, therapists and dietary department to ensure delivery of optimal care
  • Documents all aspects of patient nutritional services in medical record, following facility/policy guidelines and governing body standards
  • Establishes and evaluates appropriateness of ordered diets and enteral nutrition according to medical diagnoses and adequacy of calorie, protein, and fluid provisions
  • Provides support to the dietary department; conducts monthly kitchen sanitation audits
  • Conducts resident and family education, and evaluates effectiveness of counseling based on objective information
  • Participates in team meetings and care conferences per facility requirements
