About this job

Under the supervision of an RN, performs basic telemetry monitoring.

1. Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors. Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately. Identifies and corrects for artifacts.

2. Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.

3. Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, and eating. Assists with keeping patient rooms clean and orderly.

4. Reports abnormal assessment and telemetry findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff/immediate supervisor and nurse manager.

Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, effective communications skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action .

Experience


Education: Successful completion of ECG/EKG interpretation coursework.

Licensure, Certification and Registration: Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider
