Special Process Engineer, Welding
Requires an energetic and enthusiastic person willing to lead, promote, train, inspect and assess various forms of manufacturing process control and improvement methodologies into UTC Aerospace Systems manufacturing processes. Must have expertise in industrial welding and joining processes, welding specifications, manufacturing, processing, testing and inspection with some knowledge of other special processes (heat treatment, brazing, plating, NDT, etc.). Will maintain manufacturing operation level procedures, inspection techniques, investigations, perform inspections and conduct supplier assessments or audits.
Qualifications Shall have a thorough knowledge of welding and joining processes, materials testing, heat treatment and manufacturing processes. Must be able to evaluate quality systems, perform supplier surveillance, write procedures, develop inspection techniques and conduct special process audits related to welding and/or brazing, heat treatment, NDT & chemical processing . Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are also required.
In addition, the candidate should have a good manufacturing background with knowledge of raw material control, manufacturing process, laboratory testing, heat treating, electrical discharge machining, brazing, machining, coating and plating. Education B.S. Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science or Engineering Technology, Quality Engineering Technology
