Description

Responsibilities:
This position can be based in Philadelphia surrounding areas or in  Delaware.
The Government Banking Relationship Manager (RM) is the central contact person for municipal and public-sector clients, focused on the delivery of customized deposit products and cash management services.  He/she quarterbacks the delivery and maintenance of diverse bank products and services through cross-sell partners and acts as a trusted advisor to our client’s executive management team.  The trusted advisor role revolves around relationship building, idea generation, strategic business discussions, risk management, financial products and solutions, industry observations, and other matters of elevated importance.  Providing exceptional service and thought leadership to clients are critical activities for this role.
•Manage a portfolio of non-credit relationships of varying size and complexity
•Responsible for business development activity and active market coverage for prospective clients
•Responsible for driving new client acquisition, generating new revenue (margin and fee), and raising market awareness for the Bank defined by the strategic sales plan
•Have knowledge of all cash management-related products and services offered by the Bank
•Responsible for meeting agreed upon Government Banking goals and objectives
•Participates in all facets of Government Banking, including sales, marketing, support, specialized services and profitability goals
•Must be highly experienced in deposit and cash management products and services.
•Utilizes the resources of the Portfolio Management team and partners with other Corporate Banking colleagues effectively so as to stay engaged in driving new business and serving client needs

Qualifications

Qualifications: 

•Eight to Ten years of relevant experience

•Experience in Government Banking is preferred

•High energy and the ability to multi-task in a team-oriented and high-paced business environment

•A demonstrated competency in soliciting business; selling, closing, servicing, and structuring a wide range of customized financial services products.

•A strong, demonstrated commitment to delivering exceptional client service in managing a client portfolio that includes market protection and retention, as well as sales and cross-selling activities

•Ability to handle the most difficult and sensitive client relationships

•Capable of handling difficult negotiations, including in the area of pricing and loan documentation

•Independent thinker and self-starter who is accountable for meeting and/or exceeding budgeted sales goals

•Excellent sales and credit skills

•Responsible for cross-selling, product knowledge/application, while complying with regulatory and policy requirements

•Skilled in financial modeling and able to quickly structure account relationships and profitability measures

•Must be able to independently reach conclusions and form a clear view of relationships, and business risks

•Has an understanding of industry nuances applicable to the account relationships and markets within assigned portfolio

•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
