Responsibilities:

Leads the various Mechanics and Machinist in general plant maintenance in all production areas and facility. Schedules maintenance work, orders parts and materials to complete work, and provides project assistance int he form of technical assistance and support personnel.

* Team Leader for Plant Mechanics, Shift Mechanics, Machinist, and Winder Fixers

* Collect daily work assignments from Plant Engineer, Production Departments and work order system for breakdowns, PMs and projects

* Plan and assign work to team members

* Provide technical assistance as needed for team members and contractors

* Specify and order parts and materials by working with vendors and contractors to obtain correct items

* Set up of supply room items for future equipment repairs

* Use computer to access emails, work orders, internet to locate parts and materials, and use inter-office software as part of normal job assignments

* Must be able to work overtime, call-ins, weekends, and holidays as needed

* Log employee's attendance and notify management of any discrepancies

* Notify management of any personnel issues that need to be addressed

* Verification of completed work and documentation as needed

* Must be able to operate shop equipment and train technicians as needed

* Must have knowledge in welding and brazing

* Read drawings and sketches to fabricate from them

* Obey all safety rules and regulations

* Perform any miscellaneous duties as required by supervision

* Immediately report to supervision any safety hazards, accidents, and/or injuries, no matter how slight

Qualifications:

* Associate's Degree or Technical Certificate in related discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

* In-depth knowledge of applicable building electrical, plumbing,HVAC system, boil, generators, etc. and proficient using all applicable tools and equipment.

* Experience operating a forklift required.

* Possess a technical aptitude to read and understand technical documents and instructions such as blue prints, electrical schematics, mechanical and machine drawings for installations, troubleshooting and repair.

* Reads and writes in standard English and proficient in performing basic math calculations.

* Successful completion of all training and ability to operate and performs preventative maintenance on assigned department equipment, machinery, tools, etc.

* Successful completion of all required health and environmental safety training.

* May be required to use PC and other department specific database systems.
